Hello!

My name is Lucy Jane Lutyens and I am a full-charge Bookkeeper from Jamestown, Rhode Island. My Father is a retired lobster/crab fisherman, so I spent my childhood on all kinds of boats and on the beach, thus the name HarborLedger was conceived. I started working at 14 years old, and I did not manage my money very well, so my Dad was constantly onto me about “where is your money going?”. I felt frustrated that I was never taught in school how to budget and manage my money, so I picked myself up by my bootstraps and graduated college in Summer 2022 with an Accounting focus. Fast forward to September 2023, I took a few temp roles in Accounting, and started utilizing a budgeting template in Microsoft Excel. Fast forward a year later, I got QuickBooks Certified in Bookkeeping.

My goal as a Bookkeeper is to help Businesses maintain accurate and compliant financial records throughout their accounting cycle, and to help other people know where their money is going, in order feel more financially literate and informed. I want Women to feel empowered and in control of their finances and know where they stand so they, too, can make informed financial decisions.
